Despite several reports surfacing suggesting Nicky Henderson’s renowned stable has been hit heavily by a virus, the Champion trainer has quickly rejected all claims, and revealed all of his stars are in good health.
Henderson has not yet saddled a runner since quashing all claims on Monday, however did point out such circumstances would only be as a result of ground conditions. The leading jumps trainer also highlighted the current form of several of his runners, highlighted as recently as last weekend, in which he saddled two winners at Doncaster.
“Whereas normally you would see about 95 per cent of the tracheal washes coming back clean, at the moment we are getting about 80 per cent” Henderson told racingpost.com earlier this week.
“My Tent (Or Yours) is fine, Bobs Worth is fine, and Sprinter (Sacre) is going really well.
“No trainer in this world will have 100 per cent of their horses right, especially when the weather has been horribly muggy and damp.
“There are a few who aren’t quite spot on, but that’s the case all year round” Henderson concluded.
Henderson is due to saddle several notable runners today (Saturday, February 1st), which will undoubtedly be the best indicator yet.
